Miroka and Miroki: Robots That Bring Smiles to Faces and Sparkle to Hearts
At Viva Technology 2024 Paris, attendees were treated to a delightful showcase of charm and innovation, all accentuated by the enchanting presence of Miroka and Miroki, the captivating new robots from Enchanted Tools. Their presence at the event, alongside their beloved counterparts, captivated the audience with their adorable features and impressive capabilities, adding an extra sprinkle of magic to the occasion.
Encountering these enchanting creatures felt like stepping into a whimsical cartoon world, where every interaction was sprinkled with wonder and delight, transporting us to realms of imagination. With their endearing personalities and remarkable capabilities, Miroka and Miroki not only impressed us with their technological prowess but also charmed us with their enchanting presence, turning mundane tasks into adventures.
Miroka and Miroki aren’t just technological marvels, they are also charismatic characters designed to bring a touch of magic to everyday tasks. Standing at 130cm and weighing 30kg, these character robots are the perfect blend of world-class engineering, charming animation, and compelling storytelling. Built to tackle concrete issues and repetitive tasks in healthcare, hospitality, travel, and other customer-centric industries with grace and efficiency, they enchanted us with their ability to infuse joy and wonder into the ordinary.
Miroka and Miroki shone in their ability to adapt to their surroundings. With advanced navigation and manipulation capabilities powered by artificial intelligence (AI), these robots can recognize, understand, and maneuver within their environment effortlessly. Their rolling globe mechanism allows them to move faster and more freely, while their opposable thumbs and universal handle enable them to assist reliably with critical yet mundane functions. With a 97% grasping success rate, they outperform the market standard of 60%, proving that they are as practical as they are charming.
Miroka and Miroki transcend the role of mere efficient helpers. Their AI-managed behavior and mammal-like features, such as ear wiggles and expressive faces, create an engaging, lifelike experience. These features were met with enthusiasm in various trials, including those at Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) in France. Here, the robots provided critical logistic support by delivering and transporting supplies across facilities. The engaging personalities and responsive facial expressions of Miroka and Miroki have opened up new possibilities for their use, such as serving as care companions for children undergoing medical treatment.
“Our goal has always been to be more than just useful,” said Richard Malterre, CCO of Enchanted Tools. “That’s why we’ve invested equally in our robots’ technological innovation and their backstory and personality. Miroka’s and Miroki’s enchanting mannerisms and their ability to recognize faces and voices add a layer of personal touch in environments where warmth and empathy are most needed.”
Enchanted Tools, founded in 2021 by Jérôme Monceaux, co-creator of Pepper and Nao, has made significant strides since its inception. The first prototype of Miroki was imagined and produced in less than 12 months, and continuous improvements have been made to the robots’ software and functionality. The company has opened its early access program for organizations looking to purchase Miroka or Miroki in early 2024.
With plans to produce 100,000 robots in the next ten years, Enchanted Tools aims to make a global impact. The company’s dedication to combining technological prowess with enchanting character design ensures that Miroka and Miroki will continue to bring sparkle and joy to people’s lives. Ultimately, robots that bring smiles to people’s faces also ignite a sparkle in their hearts.
